Sheena’s paintings and sculptures focus on movement and stance, influenced by local settings. Her modernistic figures display clever use of light and shade, often with a touch of delightful humour. Sheena attended Michaelis School of Fine Art and was a scenic painter for CAPAB. After living in the Overberg for twenty years, she now stays in the Klein Karoo, where she finds abundant inspiration. Sheena holds sculpture workshops at her home studio and gallery, Langkloof Gallery and Sculpture Garden. At Benguela Cove visitors can amble amongst Sheena’s sculptures to the Tasting Room where her paintings and pastels will be exhibited. Her sculptures are enhanced and complemented by the beautiful surroundings. Sheena’s oil paintings and pastels combine figures and landscapes with textural definition being created by the use of palette knifes. Visitors can relax with a glass of fine wine in the beautiful setting of the Benguela Cove tasting rooms on the lagoon from 9am to 5pm until June 16 - or join other guests at the opening reception on June 7.
